Stovetop-farmers-market-berry-cherry-cobbler? Yes, please. No photos of the finished product, because we ate it all.
I mixed together a pint of sour cherries, a pint of blueberries, one apple (peeled and diced), a few heaping spoonfuls of brown sugar and a splash of vanilla. Then I put all of that into a French style enamel-covered pot (cough, not Le Creuset, but I wish) on medium heat, stirring occasionally so it wouldn’t burn. NEXT I used the “drop biscuit” cobbler recipe from the Joy of Cooking, and once the fruit mixture was hot, I dropped the dough into the pot, covered and let cook for about 10 minutes. That’s it! Really easy, and I didn’t have to get the kitchen too hot by turning on the oven.
